2024 Waitaki Residents' Survey

Every year we ask residents for feedback on the services and amenities we provide.
In the past, residents have been randomly selected from the electoral roll to participate in the residents survey. This year, we’re doing things a little differently. We’re opening up the survey to every resident in the district, so that everyone has an opportunity to tell us how they think we’re doing.
The feedback we receive from the survey each year informs how we do things in the future. It highlights the areas we can improve on and where we might need to direct more focus.
Your feedback is more important than ever this year, as we continue to embark on our transformation journey, which aims to change the way we work for, and with, Waitaki’s communities. The survey results will be a key part of informing what we can do differently.
In previous years, the Residents’ Survey has been carried out in full by independent research group Key Research. This year, we're carrying out the survey in-house, but with the support of Key Research, who will host the survey link, independently review the results to ensure our data is robust, and draw the winner of the $500 Prezzy Card!
The results of the survey also form the basis for our performance assessment against the performance measures and targets set in our 2021-31 Long Term Plan, and reported on in our 2023-24 Annual Report.

This survey is no longer anonymous, but we take your privacy seriously. Any details or feedback you provide will be treated confidentially and we will not publish any personal information that we receive in response to this survey.
The results will be collated in a summary report that will include key themes that come through the comments, as well as overall scores in the 2023-24 Annual Report. Comments received for any survey are considered official information and may be released if requested under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA).
Council may follow up with you individually in response to the feedback you provide.
