Annual Plan 2024-25
Consultation has concluded
Thank you for your feedback to the 2024-25 Annual Plan. Consultation has now closed.
Your feedback will assist with Council’s decision making process as they continue working through the 2024-25 Annual Plan programme to adoption no later than 30 June 2024.
We needed your feedback on our Annual Plan (Council's budget for 2024-25) to help us find the best way forward on some tough options ahead.
Public consultation on our 2024-25 Annual Plan ran from 28 March to Tuesday 30 April 2024.
We're at a crucial point, facing some hard choices.
We were staring down an average rates rise of 26% to pay for everything we wanted (and needed) to do for our district in our 2024-25 budget.
After taking a hard look at our projects and budgets for the year, we've stripped things back and are now proposing an average rates rise of 13.73%.
But inflation, soaring costs and increasingly higher Government standards, have stretched budgets – meaning we’re already trying to do more with less.
We need you to help us figure out how we can do everything we need to do to make sure Waitaki is a great place to live, while still keeping things affordable.
How can you get involved?
Read our Annual Plan Engagement Document for a summary of the challenges we're facing and the issues we want your feedback on.
